Psychology | Human Design

Your past is your teacher. Not your identity.
Psychology
At Open Birdcage, therapy is grounded in a growth mindset approach. You can expect:

-
Curiosity over judgment
-
Solution-oriented strategies
-
Gentle challenge and raised expectations
-
A safe space to make mistakes and evolve
-
Skill development that supports real-life change

Whether you're navigating a specific psychological challenge, adjusting to a life transition, or simply seeking a space to deepen your self-awareness and wellbeing, our work together will be collaboratively tailored to your needs and your pace.
I work with individuals across a wide range of issues — anxiety, grief, burnout, low self-worth, creative block, life purpose, identity transitions — and always from a place that honours where you’ve been, without keeping you trapped there. While we explore the roots of your experience, our focus is on helping you move beyond the labels and limiting stories, and toward a life that feels more expansive, connected, and self-directed.
Therapy is tailored to include elements drawn from various evidence-based modalities, including the following:
CFT
Compassion Focussed Therapy enhances emotional regulation and self-concept by enhancing the brain's soothing system through key skills of compassionate mind training.
Schema-informed
Techniques to identify long-term maladaptive patterns of thinking that result in unhealthy behaviours and disordered boundaries in relationships.
Internal Family Systems
The IFS approach conceives of every individual as a system of protective and wounded inner parts, led by a core self. It is a highly transformative approach assisting the client to access and free themselves from hidden memories, emotions, & beliefs, to help gain self-mastery.
Cognitive behavioural
Focuses on identifying and disrupting conscious thought-feeling-behavioural patterns. Often used in conjunction with schema-informed approaches to address unconscious mental blueprints.
Human Design

I also offer Human Design sessions — a tool for exploring your energetic blueprint and unique way of operating in the world.

This isn't about personality typing or "fixing" what's broken. It's about:
-
Understanding how you’re wired to make decisions
-
Exploring your energy flow, life themes, and relational dynamics
-
Reconnecting with your intuition and natural rhythm
-
Gaining permission to be more you

Human Design is a fantastic complement to the Psychology approach. If you're curious to explore Human Design separately through a one-off or series of dedicated readings, you can learn more about Human Design.
Before working together with either psychology or Human Design, you will be invited to a fifteen -minute discovery call to discuss your needs and expectations and ask any burning questions. This call is free, providing an opportunity to determine that I am the right fit for you. Therapy is provided via Zoom, with a dedicated and ongoing appointment time (which can vary week-to-week if needed), reserved specifically for you.
I work with clients who are 17 years+ and hold a particular interest in working in the following space:
-
Recovery from intimate partner violence
-
Women's health and wellbeing
-
Self-esteem and confidence
-
Relationships
-
Creativity and the creative process
-
